Carmilla is one of the few tank-roamers who scales meaningfully into mid-game: her ult steals defense and DPS from linked enemies. She's terrifying when teams follow up on the link AOE, useless when teammates ignore it.
"It's solo rank. Build doesn't matter that much if you're snowballing — don't sweat it."
Don't blindly check EXP-side buff — predict based on enemy jungler hero.
VOD example: enemy was Fanny → Hajun visioned blue at start → spotted Florin and Fanny immediately → +XP/gold.
"Roamers and EXP laners make the turtle play. If both work in synergy, turtle is yours 90% of the time."
Concrete: 30s before turtle spawn, rotate to EXP lane briefly. Help your EXP laner clear a wave or zone enemy laner. They WILL show up to turtle when you do because you helped them.
"What is the marksman going to do in the early game? Their gold doesn't matter. They're for the late game. Help your jungler. Help your EXP laner. They can change the early game."
The marksman's value is exponential — gold spent peeling them at min 4 returns at min 20. Gold spent peeling jungler/exp at min 4 returns at min 8 (turtle, lord setup, kill snowball).
If your jungler misses red-tree at turtle, don't blame them — that's your fault for not zoning the enemy jungler properly.
When your carry is low HP and enemy assassin/marksman is committing for the kill: don't pull carry back, let them stay as bait. Then ult-stun-petrify the diver. Trade: enemy carry + assassin gets bursted; your carry survives.
VOD: Hajun used Karrie as bait to bait Beatrix into committing → ult lined up → would have killed Beatrix if Karrie hadn't walked forward at the wrong moment. Cancel the play if your bait moves wrong.
Like all Hajun guides: gank only when minions are clashing in the lane. No clashing minions = enemy laner is recalling/rotating, no gank target.
Pick into comps where you have multiple AoE/burst follow-ups to capitalize on the soul-link ult:
Don't pick into single-target burst comps (Gusion, Karina) — link ult is wasted because they only burst one target anyway.
Ling nerfed — reversing his 2.1.86 buff. S2 cooldown is no longer a flat 2s at every level (now starts 2.5s) and energy cost 30 → 35. Last week's "Ling is finally good" buff is being walked back before it ever shipped live.
